In the book Everyday Evange... free essay sample
In the book Everyday Evangelism , the author, Matt Queen, states that, For some reason there has been a misconception that Evangelism advances a narrative that only a certain people can or should evangelize and that it should be a task for pastors, preachers and evangelists. That isnt true. GOD has ordained all believers. No one can really expect just those individuals to go out and do all the work by themselves. We have been equipped to do just the same. You dont need to be behind the pulpit, on stages or anything. In Ephesians 4:11-13, Paul states, that he identifies the gift of the evangelist, but he explains that these spiritually ââ¬âgifted evangelist equip the saints for ministry. To get a clearer understanding and a better foundation of who are the Evangelists are and where they come from., lets look at 2Timothy 4:1-5 from the Message Bible, I cant impress this on you too strongly. Christ himself is the Judge, with the final say on everyone, living and dead. He is about to break into the open with his rule, so proclaim the Message with intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Dont ever quit. Just keep it simple. Youre going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk foodââ¬âcatchy opinions that tickle their fancy. Theyll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. But youââ¬âkeep your eye on what youre doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as Gods servant. Those were the instructions that Paul gave to Timothy before he died. Titus 3:1-7 states, It wasnt long ago that we ourselves were foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various sinful desires and pleasures spending and wasting our lives in malice (The intention or desire to do evil, ill will), and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the goodness and kindness of GOD our Savior and HIS love for mankind appeared [In human form as the Man, JESUS CHRIST], HE saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth ( spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the HOLY SPIRIT, whom He poured out richly upon us through JESUS CHRIST our Savior, so that we would be justified [ made free from the guilt of sin], by His [compassionate, undeserved] grace, and that we would be [acknowledged as acceptable to Him and] made heirs of eternal life, [actually experiencing it] according to our hope(His guarantee). Proverbs 18:21 describes that death and l ife are in the power of the tongue. The tongue will either (1) be set ablaze by the HOLY SPIRIT in the beauty of spiritual language and be graced with the authority to prophesy, praise, bless and give life or (2), be set ablaze by hell and unleash corruption, destruction, cursing and death. That is a profound statement and the truth. So, when witnessing to others be mindful of not engaging into any conflicts. Bear in mind that we are trying to help win and save souls. The interest for some shouldnt be in winning arguments in an attempt to explain and defend the gospel or trying to prove that they are correct and the other party is wrong. No matter what you say or do, you will not be able to save everybody. In 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, Paul declares , Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralizedââ¬âwhoever. I didnt take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christââ¬âbut I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. Ive become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didnt just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it! At the end of time as described in the Book of Revelations, all will be judged and every knee will bow and confess that JESUS CHRIST is LORD. For those that believed in their hearts, confessed that JESUS CHRIST was LORD and SAVIOUR, repented for their sins and believed that HE died for sins and rose again and be baptized in the name of the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT, they shall be saved. The only person that was born into this world without sin and that was JESUS CHRIST himself. For everyone else, we were born into this world sinful and we all have a day that we will die and hopefully move on to glory with GOD. Now with that being said the only two humans weve seen in the Bible who left this earth and didnt die were: Enoch, Elijah and when the rapture comes the numbers will be greater as the saints are taken away in the blink of an eye. All hope has not been lost for the sinners to hear the gospel of good news. In Revelati ons people will still have the chance to repent and be saved until the 144000 accepts CHRIST as SAVIOR in ISRAEL. Despite the fact the seven seals and trumpets have been opened and blown, mass destruction, seeing 1/3 of the population wiped out, famine, worldwide destruction there are still people who refused to be saved.Endnotes
